Outter Forest

The out laying forest of leaf.

Tatsu walked with kurai looking around , the forest was quiet, it was almost as if the forest itself was asleep too, but as they went in deeper the sound of crickets chirping began to sound, tatsu even saw an owl! He laughed a bit as it stared at him, he stared back returning its gaze then slowly passing it as he passed under the branch where it was perched. "So kurai, did you have a nice sleep?" he asked trying to make conversation, this made him remember the time where she had kidnapped him and brought him home, it was quite strange but she had a comfy bed and she took care of him for a while, to this day he still had no idea why.

Kurai walked in silent short strides behind Tatsu deciding to ignore his temporary 'conversation' with the owl they had passed not too long ago. She thought it was weird that he was having an eye staring contest with an owl but found it funny all the same. Then her eyebrow began to twitch as she listened to Tatsu's way to try and start a conversation with her. Kurai did not want to think about her lost time of sleep so she just instead ignored the question and answered with a light hum.

She remained quiet which was somewhat odd considering she was usually excited about most things,perhaps she was still tired or worried about something. Either way Tatsu wasn't going to bug. As they continued to go on Tatsu decided to have a look ahead just to find out if they were getting closer. He mumbled something under his breathe and then his byakugan was activated, he was now able to see all around, even kurai who followed from behind. Tatsu gazed forward checking out the surrounding area as if he had a telescope, everything seemed to be fine for now. He retracted his doujutsu and continued onward.

Kurai was too focused on rummaging through her backpack to notice Tatsu activate his byakugan. She was looking for something to munch on since she didn't eat breakfast when she left out for the mission. Kurai finally emerged from her bag with a apple between her teeth and a satisfied look on her face. She returned the bag back on her back before she started to nom on the shiny red apple. "Hey Tatsu-chan want a bite?" she asked the other ninja running up to his side to offer the apple to his face.

He became lost in thought something didn't feel right but he could have just been paranoid. What was all grass started to become a more dirt and gravel path, surely they were getting closer. Tatsu adjusted the two bags he was carrying a bit so they would be more comfortable. He then looked to kurai who was running up to him and offered the apple. He grinned and nodded "Sure why not" he said as he took the apple and took a bite from it. It was pretty good not to sweet but not too sour. "Thank you kurai" he said as he continued forward.

Kurai gave him a grin after he took a bite. Walking behind him once again the blonde quickly finished the rest of the apple before randomly tossing it into the woods. She dusted off her hands as she began to jog slightly to catch up with Tatsu. As she got closer Kurai noticed his tense frame. Confused for a moment she stopped in her tracks to listen to their surroundings and noticed that all movement, except Tatsu's feet, had stopped and all were silent. Kurai narrowed her sapphire eyes at that and silently growled under her breathe . Something wasn't right.

Tatsu kept walking seeming a bit more casual, he put his hands behind his back, the area around them began to change from a forest to a more rocky area. Activating his byaugan he noticed a ninja hiding in the distance but close enough to attack. He stopped in his tracks and spun on his heels stopping right in front of her. He looked her in the eye and spoke up. "My love dont dilly dally we might be late for our date at 3 o'clock " He said with a straight face and a grin. To anyone it would have seemed like they were a normal couple however he was trying to subtly hint to her that there was some foreign ninja watching them from 3 o'clock which was a few ways to tatsus left and back. (Kurai's front and to the right). Hopefully she would pick up on his hint.

Kurai was too busy focusing on the surrounding area to notice when Tatsu came back to her. She was however snapped out of concentration when she heard him speak. She was confused at first but when she finally thought over his words she understood. The blonde kunoichi just gave a fake sheepish laugh. "Oh yeah haha sorry. I was lost in thought, ya know?" she said as she rubbed the back of her head and began to walk ahead with Tatsu. She grinned sheepishly as she put her hands into her jacket pockets.

Mist drops from the trees next to the caravan's leader, "Mist reporting for duty sir," he says, kneeling down.

Near the gates were a small group of people standing around a train of goods. There was a round smiling woman with blonde hair and a giggling laugh. It could be heard from all around as she laughed at one of her fellow travelers' stories. One of the men around her points to the kid wearing a headband and the woman looked back. She smiled at him.

In no time they were ready to roll, Joy was walking to the front, leading the boy with her. She couldn't seem to stop giggling though. "My name is Joy." She giggles some more, apologizes and then motions to the train. "This tea's important to me. I think you and your village for helping us get to the Land of Tea safely." She giggled a again, more lightly than before. "Is there anything we need before leaving?"

mist smiles a bit at joy, though the smile seems a bit forced as the young ninja feels a bit uncomfortable around Joy's bubbly personality "no, nothing to my knowledge" he replied as the baggage train finished preparations for the journey. Mist jumped into the trees and called "I'll keep a steady vigilance from above where possible," as the baggage train headed out.

Joy climbed in the front, and snapped at the reins and the horses push forward after they found no reason to stay any longer. The forest was quiet, calm, undisturbed. There was a sound of creaking wood as the wheels carried the weight of the tea across the trails. One of the horse blow through his nose in annoyance to a bug or two.

They had traveled a good ways without much happening, but from above, a pack of wolves follow, watching those who were walking on either side of the train with a hungry look.

Mist prepares several shuriken and drops out of the trees to walk next to the lead wagon near Joy. after a moment he says "be ready, there are wild animals following on either side, wolves from the sound of it five or six of them." he jumps back into the trees and takes target with his shuriken as the wolves prepare to strike.

Joy blinked surprised at the boldness of the wild life here. Half her men had arms as big as tree limbs. But she nods and looks around trying to spot the beasts.

There was a big brown on closing in, a male with a large set of scars on his right shoulder. Beside him, another large male. A red furred wolf edging closer. They looked big enough to be able to take down the fully grown men that walked feet from them.

On the other side, there were two smaller, but just as big males. One grey and another brown one. These two were more spread out. The other two were lagging on either side, looking for easy pickings in the end of the pack of humans.

Mist lets fly several shuriken at the scarred brown wolf and large red wolf before flicking a couple kunai at the two on the other side before dropping from the trees behind the group and drawing his short sword. "Alright you mangy mutts, back off!" Mist yelled at the wolves, each of which was bigger than he was.

The younger wolves on the other side didn't even see it coming, yelps carry out through the forest as the two run off, neither fatally hit, but neither of them wanted to stick around. One of the lingers herd the cries of his pack and backed off as well.

The brown wolf's ears flicker as Mist throws the shuriken, and he knows well enough to dodge, however, he took the right eye away from the red one, and landed a couple in his back, the surprise caused him to jump and saved him from being paralyzed. He however has lost his appetite and flees as well. The brown one lets out a growling bark before jumping in front of the lead of the train, not easily scared. He growls at the horses who whine out, pick up their hooves, and kick at the air. The wolf was big, but not big enough to tangle with a horse and so he round the corner and attacks one of the guards.

Meanwhile the lagging wolf follows its Alpha's orders, and jumps out. Attacking the young man who was yelling at the top of his lungs.

Mist swings the sword up as he lunges forwards, catching the young wolf in the ribs, dealing a painful, glancing blow and earning a scrape on his back at the same time before he rolls away and deals another wound to the wolf's leg before jumping onto a tree and kicks off from it to send himself at the alpha wolf. Mist lands with a roll and comes up in front of the large wolf his bloody blade at the ready as he yells, "get off him you stupid mutt!"

The alpha had the man's arm in his jaws and the guard was trying to punch the wolf off. It was clear this one had much more experience than the younger one, which yelped and ran off in a fast limp after the scuffle. He was growing and ripping at the flesh. And while he was debating on taking the arm with him, he glared at the boy. He ripped his fangs from the guy who screamed out in pain, and kicked the man to the ground. The wolf, back on all four paws, lowered himself in an attack position, growling at the boy with blood dripping from his mouth.

Mist grips the blade tightly in one hand while he reaches into the pouch of ninja tools on his left hip before flicking a few shuriken at the wolf and charging and making a few basic hand signs before holding the blade at the ready as he charged.

The Alpha dodged the shuriken, clearly having experience against this kind of stuff. He attacks still though, faster and harder when he sees the hand-signs. As if he knew something was going to happen.

Mist gasps as the wolf bites into his arm then, POOF a log falls to the ground, a substitution! Mist drops onto the wolf's neck and wraps his arms around it "Got you now!" he yelled, trying to get the wolf away from the baggage train.

The alpha was a good three times bigger than mist, and wrestled against the child's grip as he is caught and pulled away. He growls and tries biting at the boy.

Mist grunts and bites back as the wolf twists and turns in his grip trying to snap at him, his arms locked around the wolf's thick neck as he clings on tight. Mist seemed to be trying to avoid killing the large wolf if possible as he rode on it's back.

The wolf bucked and thrashed, looking to get out of the boy's grip. He spun around, seemingly after his tail but actually trying to nip at his legs and feet. He'd make a quick one-eighty and try for the other legs and feet. The boy presistant..
